HCRN Adds Two New Centers

HCRN is excited to announce that we have invited representatives from St Louis (Dr David Limbrick) and Pittsburgh (Dr Mandeep Tamber) to join our September meeting. These centers were selected from among 6 outstanding applications through our recent RFA to expand the network.

Dr. David Limbrick (St Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University in St Louis) is a hydrocephalus investigator with NIH funding to study the effect of shunt surgery on the white matter of the brain. St Louis has a long tradition of participation in cooperative multicenter research.

Dr Mandeep Tamber (Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh) recently completed PhD studies in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University focusing on biomarkers for use in molecular epidemiologic studies. Pittsburgh is also very involved in clinical trials particularly in pediatric brain tumors.

We are thrilled to welcome these young investigators to the September HCRN meeting in Salt Lake City. They will invigorate the group with new study ideas, increase the rate of patient accrual and add further research expertise to the group.
